Networking for the media industry I have created a linked in account to show I am available in the industry the good thing about linked in is that the person using can tailor it to their liking by managing what they will see on there feed and they can save certain jobs they are interested or jobs they have been offered they can also communicate with other linked in users which makes the platform a large and helpful one for people looking for employment.  https://www.linkedin.com/in/matthew-coates-44a23a213 I also have had other ways of being in contact with people in the industry I was given the opportunity to listen to legendary film director Ridley Scott speak about his experiences in the film industry and how to get into it it was very helpful and fun to hear about his stories and experiences in the industry and how he became the creator he is today.

How is the film/TV industry structured? The film/TV industry usually is set out in 3 specific parts 1st comes the pre production this is things like the writing of the script the casting storyboarding etc, the film industry has tonnes of different job roles all of them being extremely important as the next one, it's important that people who work these roles do efficiently and accurately. After pre production it moves onto the production which is the actual creation of the script this is where you will typically see directors cinematographers and prop masters the most as it's when there needed the most in the middle of the production. Finally it moves onto the post production which is the wrapping up of the film where will see editors and marketing teams doing there work as they need to make the film/TV show clean and ready for the marketing team to advertise it right to generate the best possible profit for the project to ensure it is a success. Scriptwriting Evaluation

My project I was given the task to create to think and construct a script for a short fictional film in a genre of my choosing my script is a huge part of my films pre production. Along with the script I had to make sure that I had a good and intriguing proposal to go along with the script I had to show that my script matched with genre otherwise it wouldn't make much sense I've chosen to work on the thriller/war genre I'm going to be making a film about PTSD symptoms and it's effects on people and what war can do to people I'm aiming this towards older teens and adults. The proposal Firstly I had to write my proposal I gathered my own research I did this find out just how crucial the proposal was to the pre production and things that are included in a successful proposal. https://filmlifestyle.com/write-powerful-film-proposal Film lifestyle claims "Whether you are an aspiring film academy graduate or a passionate scriptwriter, getting your story to the big scr...

Unit 15 Learning Aim A

I have done some research on these ads and I have found some conventions of these two I have noticed for the basketball ads they always have large pictures meaning that this is the main focus point this is what they want the viewers eyes to see as soon as they open the magazine another convention I have seen is that the writing on these magazines are always big bright and bold fonts/colours this is showing that there is some importance in the product. Codes and conventions of print advertisements Typically when you take a look at print advertisements you usually see big pictures of the products right in your face this is to show you the product more in depth and to make your eyes focus on that specific item the marketing team does this on purpose to lure you in they want you to take an interest in this product so this is just a good selling tool for the company. Further more you will usually see the companies logo somewhere on the as in this as below the logo is on the top left, we als...

Unit 15 Film Pitch

Image
Pitch My idea for my film is about a soldier/former mercenary who has just come back from fighting in a war and the things he has seen have taken a toll on his mental well being the genre of the film will be war/drama I believe because it shows some really important messages in it. For a title I'm thinking of the name PTSD because when this man comes home his head is currently in an apocalyptic state.  I think my film will be aimed towards people at the age of 15 and above from all backgrounds and personality's as long as they are fans of war stories and intense things they should enjoy it.  Disney and Pixar films don’t fall into the same genre as my film these films are primarily aimed at children however what is great about Pixar and Disney is the way they market their films that’s why I have given there work a mention as I enjoy the way they promote there movies dedicating YouTube channels to show their trailers on they have pages on social media and their new s...
