Film Proposal

Briefly my film is about a mercenary who comes back from a war as the sole survivor out of his comrades and when he gets home he hopes that he can get on with his life as usual however his demons catch up with him and he has a massive fight with his own mind.

The logline

while fighting with his own mental issues he discovers valuable information that set him in right Track.

Screenplay structure

Act 1 3-5 mins long

Seeing the character get on with his life and see the odd struggle occasionally.

Act 2 5-7 mins long

This is where things take a step in the opposite direction and my character spirals our of control as his guilt and dread give him issues for the rest of the film we see him struggle with his thoughts and his past and make him think about his future.

Act 3 4-6 mins long

This where my character gets in line and sorts his issues our and realises he can't change what's already happened and he learns to live with his mistakes.

Characters

My main character is a young mercenary called Jones who is hired to fight a war in the deep dark forests he comes back a changed man

Secondary characters

Sean, Jones's best friend dating back to when they were kids he was the first person who gave him any acknowledgement.

Bill, Sean's younger cousin and acquaintance of Jones. Bills quite a quite fellow doesn't say to much

film treatment

The story is about a young mercenary who goes to war with his friends and friends cousin they are all mercenaries who are available for hire by anyone they take this job because they are desperate for money and believe it will be an easy gig just a bit of resistance by rebels However when he gets there he knows it's all whole different scenario one far worse than he could have suspected before leaving.

After the jobs been done Jones comes back alone and in a worse state then when he left he is plagued by demons and his past he struggles coping with his new issues and is terrified to close his eyes as the memories become more real and painful each night he suffers from flashbacks and hallucinations

Jones accepts his past and his mistakes and he continues to live as normal as he can considering what he has been through as a set back

Target audience

My audience I'm aiming towards is people 15 and over I'm choosing this audience because many other war films like 1917 and fury have been aimed towards people of that age category and above I believe targeting it to this audience will be successful as war films have been successful to this audience in the past. War related films are one of the most popular types film in recent years seeing many of them spring up. My film is unique because yes it shows war however it also shows what war does to a human mind because not many films show the aftermath of war it's unique because I think its an issue that not many people take seriously and it's happens on a daily basis people who have come back from stressful situations having a negative mental experience.
